What better time than the first week of a New Year to think about traditions?
There are standard traditions like giving loved ones a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day or watching fireworks on the 4th of July.
Traditions can also be personal . . . in our house, we have a number of traditions -- from the silly to the significant. There's mommy tickle time (ok, so only my 8 year old still appreciates this tradition!), to family prayers before bedtime. Whether mundane or momentous, traditions play an important role in life --- they're a great way to bind families ...

That was the question Crawford Loritts asked over 6,000 women to consider at the start of the True Woman conference in Indianapolis this past Thursday. While his message to us (from 1 John 2:15-17) was to "be in the world but not of the world" ... it's actually a question that has been on my mind for sometime. I suspect that's why God placed it on my heart to attend this True Woman conference ... and to invite my sister-in-law to join me.

Today Panda Express in Irvine became Ambassador Express as we celebrated Kathy Randall's (hmmmm) birthday! (Kathy's in the back row, second from the left next to Peggy Campbell.)
There was no noticeable bamboo in anyone's take out, but we did manage to put away a sizable amount of veggies, chicken and rice-with chopsticks!
Unlike our male counterparts at Ambassador, our luncheons don't fall in the category of major carnivore extravaganzas with the accompanying clogged arteries so resultant from the "burger" place!
