... to make a good, first impression!  Last night's American Idol show was a good illustration of this.

I was very surprised by a few of the contestants who made it to Hollywood, but failed miserably with their first round of auditions on the big stage.

As the amiable host, Ryan Seacrest stated, "we'll see how well they perform under the bright lights and big stage of the Kodak Theatre."  Either the nerves took over or some just seemed ill-prepared for the task.  Judge Simon Cowell, infamous for telling it like it is, responded to one contestant by saying ...

I like science fiction. WAIT! DON'T GO!  From Star Wars to steampunk, I appreciate creative musings on different times.  That's why when I heard that Sony's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs had some geek appeal, I queue'd it up (Netflix lingo).  I was delighted when what starts out as a clever animated flick about a wannabe inventor ends up a thoughtful look at not only being who you are but carefully examining what you have, and more importantly, how you use it.  Truly, a film for viewers of any age.

The 2009 AFC season has come to a close.  The votes have been counted, recounted and then shredded to avoid further recounting. All final results were tabulated and the winners are now declared!  While it's true that we connect ministry and media, we certainly also like to connect fun with food, which is why our winners this season will enjoy either an In-N-Out or Chick-Fil-A gift card. 

Our Ministry Partner division was certainly interesting this season as the number one seat often had a new winner sitting in it each week. In the end though, it's The Wilkins ...
