Altho we represent some of the most talented communicators in Christendom ... well, we actually have something to say ourselves. SunglassesMy family and friends have always been amazed that I can spot a celebrity in a crowd even from the back of their famous head!

It doesn't happen by accident!  It requires an aberrant attention to everyone around me for the very purpose of spotting that lone celebrity in the crowd.  What can I say?  It's a shallow, superficial part of who I am.

I love observing pop culture, always have. 

More recently however, my quest has become the non-celebrity-celebrity.  That person we should all know, but wouldn't recognize sitting next to us in church; wouldn't ...

Let's Talk Turkey!

TurkeyThere was one Thanksgiving when I took a 20-lb. Butter Ball turkey to Paris.  On American Airlines.  In their baggage compartment.  Frozen solid.  Through Customs at Charles deGaulle Airport.

But that's a story for another day.

If there ever was an iconic symbol-it's the Thanksgiving Turkey.  Yet there's no historical evidence turkey was even served at the Pilgrims' first Thanksgiving.  (I'm thinking it was probably seafood!)

Benjamin Franklin was so enthralled by the bird-he was in favor of making it our national symbol instead of Bald Eagle.
