A friend of mine wasn't quite prepared when she innocently asked her niece, "What's on your Christmas list this year?" Without hesitation she replied, "a purse by Coach." Do you know what a Coach purse goes for? Be ready with about $300 just to look!
How about a simple bottle of shampoo and a bag of candy? Oh yea, let me know how THAT works for you!
Recently Ambassador sent several boxes of goodies to Marines in Afghanistan. It was our pleasure to do in support of Trevor Connor, the Navy nephew of one of our senior staff producers, Mark Conner.
Trevor's "thank you" email said: "A simple bottle of shampoo or small bag of candy is all it takes to bring a Marine's spirit up so he can keep on fighting like he's trained to do. It means a lot to us to know we're still in people's minds."
These young people who serve in harm's way never cease to amaze me! When was the last time a simple bottle of shampoo was "all it takes" to boost your spirits? So much for so little!
Trevor concluded his email by saying: "When you show us you care, it's a reminder of what we're fighting for!"
This Christmas season let's pray for Trevor, and all the young men and women, husbands and wives, moms and dads giving voluntarily in an attempt to ensure peace on earth-goodwill to men.
Jesus spoke of ultimate peace when He said: In Me you have peace. In this world you'll have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.
