An Indescribable Gift . . .

Christmas GiftAs kids we were never allowed to open gifts on Christmas Eve.  Oh no!  That was Santa's "delivery night!" So for us, Christmas Day was the most exciting, anticipated day in the year.  We could barely sleep the night before.  And we knew Santa had actually come, because the cookies and milk we'd left out the night before were always gone!  Proof positive of his existence.

It's always intrigued me that so many people who actually observed Jesus, who actually heard Him speak, rejected Him.  John tells us in his gospel, even many disciples turned away and left after they heard Jesus.

I rarely keep Christmas cards after I read them.  But this year I saved one of them.  It's been on my desk here at Ambassador throughout the Christmas season.  On the front it says:

Thanks be to God for His

And inside the card is an artist's rendition of the nativity scene and the words from I Timothy 1:15:  "It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."

To that statement, Paul added:  "Of whom I am the worst!"

An indescribable gift-indeed.  Proof positive of His existence!
