The college football season arrives this week in all its glory. Marching bands, cheerleaders, and players - eager to hit anybody wearing a different uniform.
As a diehard football fan, I get fired up when I smell the aroma of a pre-game BBQ and upon entering the stadium, the familiar smell of freshly mown grass.
Millions of football fans fill the stadiums of college and pro teams all over the country in order to cheer on their favorite team. There's no question that football fans are the most intense of any sport, and if you've been to one of the games of the big conferences (I went to a few Pac 10 games last season), you know it's absolutely true.
While there are many college games this weekend, the biggest games have to be #5 Alabama at #7 Virginia Tech and #13 Georgia at #9 Oklahoma St. A loss for any team in this first week of play could put a team out of contention for the national championship before they've had a chance to start the season.
I'd love to hear who you'll be in the stand rooting for this season.
Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable.
