None of us know what 2016 holds - in our own lives, we may enjoy our greatest moments or face our greatest disappointments. The same could be true for our country as a whole - the New Year may bring with it times of peace or times of great unrest.
Moving forward into this New Year, I am reminded by Anne Graham Lotz that prayer is the way to prepare for whatever the next 12 months may bring:

As we focus on the celebration of our Savior's birth this week, there's much in the world to remind us that darkness exists . . . sadly, we experienced this here in Southern California in our own back yard as we watched the tragedy unfold in San Bernardino.
It's these conflicting thoughts of thick darkness and light, of encroaching evil and glory, which are on the mind of Anne Graham Lotz during these days before Christmas:
