Super Bowl Dad-Vertisements

"Dad-vertising" is what one writer coined for the Super Bowl ads whose focus was dads.  And though he confesses that the dad-vertisements will not make him want to go out and buy a brand new Nissan Maxima or Toyota Camry, he admitted that the commercials did strike a chord.

The ads highlighted the important, hands-on role that many involved fathers play in their kids' lives.  The sentimentality of kids calling for their dad and proud dads sending their daughters off as young women into the world . . . I could see how the ads would tug at a father's heart strings ...
