The value of every life is a message Brad Mattes has been sharing for nearly 40 years.  A father of four sons himself, celebrating babies and supporting their parents is something Brad holds as core to his own life commitment.

Graduation quotes are trending on Twitter right now - I know because I have a vested interest in the subject as my son graduates from high school this week.  I'm enjoying reading wonderful words of wisdom about "how far" these young people have come as they close this chapter of their life and graduate into the future.

Every Life is A Blessing

My friend Lisa's son, Zachary just celebrated his 18th birthday . . . though he doesn't know it.

Zachary has a rare form of epilepsy which includes grand mal seizures, autistic tendencies and severe developmental challenges. He will likely not progress beyond the mental abilities of a toddler.

While I watch my 18 year old son prepare for high school graduation, fill out job applications and enroll in college in the fall, Lisa is immersed in the paperwork of setting up Zach's conservatorship and SSI Disability.
