I saw a quote today that said, "I finally got to exactly where I wanted to be ... so why won't all these growth experiences go away and leave me alone?"

Despite the humor in the question, we all feel the weight of those "growth experiences" we'd rather not encounter.  You know those situations where it feels much nicer to say, "Then I overcame that problem," than it does to express, "This is what I'm currently going through."

This year, Max Lucado has shared many times on the importance of God's Word in a Christian's life.  In a world where it's just as easy to Google an article or read a self-help book as it is to pick up our Bibles—we can forget there is only one true guide for our lives—God's Word!

I Thought 9/11 Was the Last Time

Waking up this morning to news of yet another terrorist attack, I reflected on the first time I heard the word "terrorist."  I was nine years old.  It was a day, perhaps, that many of us began to more deeply understand the definition of that unnerving term.  It was September 11, 2001.  I didn't expect acts of terror to become a trend over the next decade and a half.
