Providing Hope for Orphans

"The adoption of orphans is one of the greatest opportunities today for fulfilling the Great Commission" says Dennis Rainey, President of FamilyLife.

Orphan Sunday website

And that's why the ministry launched Hope for Orphans in 2003.  Since then, FamilyLife joined together with Christian organizations like Focus on the Family, Show Hope, and other orphan care ministries in order to equip individuals and churches to meet the needs of "the least of these."

Now, FamilyLife is excited to share that on November 8, 2009, the first ever Orphan Sunday is taking place in churches, small groups, college campuses, and other places across the country.  Sponsored by Cry of the Orphan, this event will be live in Nashville, featuring Steven Curtis Chapman, Dennis Rainey, and Jim Daly ... and will include a musical performance as well as highlight the needs of children everywhere.

To get your station and listening audience involved, visit Hope for Orphans to learn more.  There you'll find access to a number of great resources available for download that can help you plan an Orphan Sunday in your community.  Learn how to be one of several stations participating in the live web cast, when you visit Orphan Sunday.org.

Leading up to this Sunday event, Dennis and Bob Lepine talk with one couple about their decision to adopt two children from Ukraine, one born with a facial deformity.  Don't let your listeners miss this heartwarming story on "FamilyLife Today," October 29-30.
