Traditions play a big part in my family's Christmas celebration....as I'm sure they do yours as well. After Christmas Eve service, we go over to my in-laws house, and with my extended family, read the Christmas story from the Scriptures. We'll "break up" the story with songs...so when we get to the appearance of the angels we'll sing (you guessed it) "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." Etc.
I would love for you to come over on Christmas Eve after church and share in our tradition...but mom and dad's house is pretty crammed as it is...not to mention southern California traffic is a "bear" on Christmas Eve. So I've come up with the next best thing. Uncle Charles (Morris) is going to read the Christmas story, say a few words about the passage, and the HAVEN quartet is going to sing (and believe me, those quartet singers know how to sing).
We've put together (what is in my mind) the perfect Christmas Special - "Telling the Great Story of Christmas." It is 54 minutes, and has covered breaks (Covered with "bonus songs" from the quartet). I'm hoping it will be one of those classics that never gets old...just like the story we've been celebrating for 2000 years.
I hope you'll want to make my family tradition, part of your listening family's tradition as well.
For details and clearance, just shoot me an email.
P.S. If you want to fully embrace the tradition, you need to drink hot apple cider or gloog while listening.
