In just a few short days, we'll be saying good-bye to another year ... and hello to a list of new year's resolutions!
I rarely make any resolutions unless there's a strong motivation for seeing it through--like losing weight to fit into clothes I'm going to wear at NRB! (Yes, sad, but true!)
In all seriousness, though, as I started thinking about this year's resolutions, I was reminded that God has provided me, through Scripture, plenty to consider. With that, here are a few I've made for 2010:
- Establish more quiet time (Mark 1:35).
- Be content (1 Timothy 6:8).
- Pursue excellence (Philippians 4:8).
And fortunately to help get us off on the right foot for establishing resolutions, John MacArthur starts the new year on "Grace to You®" with a timely study that takes us Back to Basics. John surveys the foundational principles for dynamic, trial-enduring, hopeful Christian living. Prayer, obedience, trust, praise, spiritual gifts, bearing fruit, confessing sin--it's all a part of this two week broadcast series.
Quite honestly, that should be my #1 resolution this year--that is, growing spiritually stronger in 2010! (Feel free to hold me accountable!)
Happy New Year!
