Tuesday was "recording day" for Wess Stafford...a great time for us (represented by Jim Sanders) to "Speak Up With Compassion®" in Colorado Springs. Pictured above (L-R): Lee Geysbeek (new to Compassion!), Krissy Thomas, Wess and Jim. By the way, if you're planning to attend Momentum in a few weeks, please say "hi" to Lee and Krissy...and be listening for a "preview" of exciting radio news.
Speaking of "exciting"...I know some kids that are not so excited to jump back into the school routine. If the moms and dads listening to your station need a little help making learning "fun" for kids, invite them to check out questforcompassion.org.
The purpose of Quest for Compassion is to educate your children about global poverty and help them develop a heart for the poor around the world. When children understand poverty, they grow into compassionate adults.
We encourage you to accompany your child and/or students on this journey around the world. Use this site and the resources provided as a launching pad for conversations with your children about God's heart for the poor.
Pray with your children and/or students for those living in the poverty around the world.
Here are a few ways to get the word out (besides mentioning on-air!):
- Invite a child to play Quest for Compassion with a personalized invitation.
- Promote the game through a website banner.
- Introduce the site to parents and teachers.
- Hang a poster on a church bulletin board.
Of course, your listeners will be hearing all about "back to school" on "Speak Up With Compassion®" in September - starting with a commentary from Wess Stafford on "Literacy and Children in Poverty" (9/1) to a child's perspective on "Doing Chores" (9/4). For September program titles, click here.
