Ways to Share the love of Christ
I stopped at the market on my way home from AWANA last night to pick up some milk—I walked out with something much more valuable.
The checker asked me what AWANA stood for—I explained that AWANA was one of the outreaches our church provided to share with children (and parents) about God and the Bible.
Next time I go to the market, I’m going to invite the checker to visit my church, but in the meantime, I’m thankful that in those few minutes, God used me to share the love of Christ with her.
And this week, The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team of crisis-trained chaplains are preparing share the love of Christ as they deploy to Georgia to assist in the recovery from recent storms.
The storms dropped up to 20 inches of rain in some locations and left significant damage across the Southeast U.S. According to news reports, nine people have died in the storms and subsequent flooding, and several hundred people are being helped in shelters across the north Georgia region.
"Many families have lost everything that they've worked for, and it's very common to feel devastated and hopeless during this time of great loss," said Jack Munday, director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. "That's why it is very important that we come alongside them as they are going through this dark valley and offer them hope and compassion."
More important than any item on our grocery list . . . sharing the love of Christ—in our own communities or other states! We invite you to take a moment and share with us ways your station is helping to share Christ's love with others in your own community!
