News & Insights

With 50 years of experience, we "get" that things are always changing! That's why we've dedicated a section of our website to provide the very latest information about the speakers and ministries we serve--and about us, too. Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

It's a question we never think to ask - because we know first-hand that sponsoring a child through Compassion does work!  (Ask us how many total children are sponsored by our staff)

After a full day of meeting Compassion radio team members Lee Geysbeek and Krissy Thomas, our team left fully energized with a renewed commitment to release children from poverty...in Jesus' name.

Life and the Duggar Family

It’s about protecting lives . . . whether it’s one or nineteen.

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar recently announced that baby nineteen is on the way and as Brad Mattes shared recently on “Life Issues®,” they’ve received some less than enthusiastic response:

“Much of the reaction from over a thousand bloggers has been vicious.  Keep in mind most of these individuals claim to be “pro-choice.”  In other words, the decision of having children is a deeply personal one that should not be interfered with.  It is these same liberators of personal choice that have blogged hateful and intolerant remarks about ...

We've Decided to Call Him Tommy...

At least, that's what I'm lobbying for!

This past weekend, my husband let me decorate the house for fall...I've put leaves out, pumpkins are scattered throughout, and Tommy, our friendly scarecrow on a swing, is hanging from our arbor. I love everything that comes with fall, from apple pies to family gatherings. And this year, Jim Garlow reminded me of another reason fall is such an incredible season-it gives a unique opportunity to talk about the truth of the spiritual world with friends, kids, family and neighbors.

Each year Halloween is growing in popularity. While out ...

The Antidote to Fear. . .

I'm amazed that I didn't give my mother heart failure, especially with all the crazy things I did growing up!  My favorite story is when I jumped off the top of a tall lifeguard post at the local beach!  My mom watched me as my three year old body plummeted, head first, closer and closer to the ground.  Miraculously I landed in the sand - just three inches away from the concrete slab that most likely would have ended my life!

Thankfully, life generally isn't filled with sudden and unexpected fears, although they most certainly do exist!  There ...

The Magnificent Obsession!

  • Friday, September 11, 2009

One of the greatest longings of a believer's heart is to fulfill God's purpose for their life--to do what He has for them to do. Of course, one can only do that by listening to Him.

In addition reading His Word, going to church and of course, listening to Christian radio (programs like "Daily Light For Daily Living!"), I also like reading books by Christian authors . . . books that challenge me and draw me closer to Christ.

Right now I'd reading Anne Graham Lotz's new book, The Magnificent Obsession-it's a wonderful book that's ...

What A Treat!

It was a great day at Ambassador yesterday as we shared in fellowship with our good friend, Trace Thurlby from the Bott Radio Network. But the celebration of his visit started long before he came through our doors in the afternoon--it started about 30 seconds after the delivery of some incredible pastries Trace had sent earlier that morning: Lemon, Blueberry and Apricot. It doesn't get much better than that!

Great friends and delicious treats! Needless to say, both the desserts and our time with Trace made the day an incredible one here on Langley!
