There's nothing extraordinary about my 8 year old's consistent, "Why" questions:
- "Why do we need to sleep at night?"
- "Why is the sun hot?"
What is extraordinary though are the questions I heard from some Jr. High and High School children at church recently:
- "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
- "Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?"
As Franklin Graham shares in his August ministry letter, "The largest generation in our history knows less about Jesus than any generation before, yet they have a deep hunger for truth."
And sharing the truth with teens and young adults is what the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's Rock the River outreach is all about-changing history . . . changing lives.
As the BGEA gives thanks for the 466 who either accepted Christ or recommitted their lives to Him earlier this month at the Fraser Valley Rock the River event, the ministry asks for prayer for their follow-up as they get connected to area churches.
"Pray for these young people and the many others whose lives are being changed by the power of the Gospel this summer," says Franklin Graham.
Watching my own three children grow up during a time when truth is being sought after so earnestly, I am so thankful for the Rock the River events and for the "Hour of Decision®" and "Decision Minute" radio outreaches. As Franklin Graham shares, "Evangelism is for every generation."
