The Gift of Being a Grandparent

Are you a grandparent, either to your own grandchildren, or to other special Grandparentchildren in your life?  If so, then you know what a gift it is to be able to share your faith with them.

God has blessed me with seven wonderful grandchildren; two of which I’ve been privileged to pray with as they accepted Christ.  Some of my very favorite moments in life have been while praying with my grandchildren and especially listening to them pray!  There is nothing sweeter in the world to me than listening to them talk to God!

Emilie Barnes shares that same passion for her grandchildren.  She and her husband Bob are “Grammy and Papa” to their five grandchildren.  They openly share their faith and love for God with their grandchildren, passing on their legacy to future generations.

Emilie’s hope is to leave a legacy of faith, memories, life and love for her grandchildren.  No matter what their ages, young or adult, she believes you can leave a lasting impression on their hearts.

On September 12th, we honor all those special grandparents in our lives by celebrating “Grandparents Day.” And, for her “Keep It Simple” listeners, Emilie has put together a week-long series about grandparents beginning September 6th.

So as Emilie and I do, take advantage of every moment with those precious grandchildren to show them not only how much you love them, but how much God does too!

Happy Grandparent’s Day!

“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, until I declare your power to the next generation…”  Psalm 71:18
