For this month--here's what we posted to our News & Insights section!

Sharing the "good" message!

"Good" (hao) = Mother and ChildAs a child, I was forced to learn Chinese characters.  My parents told me that it would be "good for me." Little did I know what they really meant! Knowing some of the basic Chinese characters was beneficial not only for understanding the language, but it helped me understand the Chinese (and by extension the Korean) culture.

You may have already known this, but some Chinese characters were developed in a pictographic form - the characters looked like the object they represented.  For example, the character for 'fire', 火, is a pictographic representation of two flames above a pair of logs ...

Compassion is the Church's best apologetic

Pastor Max Lucado at the Make A Difference ConcertThis weekend I attended the "Make A Difference" concert with Max Lucado.  The concert was an incredible experience filled with upbeat and uplifting music by TobyMac, Third Day and Michael W. Smith.  The musicians skillfully ushered everyone into heartfelt worship as they consistently gave God the glory.  What stood out to me the most, however, was Pastor Max's presentation of God's "plan A" solution for the problem of poverty and the caring of orphans and widows - the Church!

"Compassion is the Church's best apologetic," he said.  I couldn't agree more!

While on the center stage, Max ...

VineyardA few years ago I became intrigued and did a study of the verses in Scripture that begin with those two simple, yet powerful, words ... how blessed.

And this weekend, winging home from time with 4000 deeply committed women in Fort Worth, I got to thinking how true it is ... how blessed we are serving at Ambassador.

I just spent three days listening to Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Crawford Loritts, Kay Arthur, Mary Kassian, James MacDonald (and a few more!) at True Woman '10.  Mix the impact of these gifted communicators with the music of Keith & Kristyn Getty (and, ok, a ...
