Mercy In The Midst of Disruptions

Volcano smokeI'm sure by now, you have heard about all the problems the Iceland volcano eruption has caused.  The chaos and havoc may even have impacted your friends and family who are travelling!  The Mercy Ships® team has also been impacted.

The Mercy Ships team, thankfully, responded in a 'merciful' way to this crisis:

"For those of you that are curious...yes the volcano over Iceland has affected the crew of the Africa Mercy. We have volunteers that want to get there and cannot, and others on the ship ready to go home that cannot. But the good news is ...

Seconds of Grace

Woman in rocking chair"I want ____________ "[fill in the blank]

There are a lot of things I want. There are, however, very few things I actually need.  A mentor told me about an easy way to refocus my thoughts so that I have a proper view of my wants vs. needs!  He calls it a "second of grace":

1. Stop. [Stop stressing and worrying ...]

2. Breath in.

3. Pause.

A Meaningful Relationship Involves Communication

I saw a play this weekend about a brilliant linguist - with a communication problem.  While the story line left a little to be desired, the premise of it hit home-a meaningful relationship involves communication.

Last week we talked about making that strong first impression with your title tag. But after the first impression...you've got to give users and ...

Looking to undergird and further nurture ministry friendships, "Joni and Friends®" debuted their Facebook Page and in just one week, they've already heard from over 1000 Facebook users!

Jim Garlow Equips You for April 22!

Earth Day Radio Special With Jim Garlow

If you're anything like me, Earth Day hasn't been your thing. I've never really done anything on Earth Day (except maybe plant a tree with my third grade class).  I'm not ungrateful for creation. it's just that I didn't know "what" Earth Day really was about. A certain paranoia overcame me, wanting to avoid being labeled as a person who was "worshipping creation rather than the creator."

Good news. If you're involved in Earth Day, it's actually an opportunity to magnify the Creator...not detract! That's exactly what Jim Garlow hones ...
