There's something new from Compassion -- and you don't want to miss it! Each week Wess Stafford, speaker for Speak Up With Compassion®, turns over the microphone to kids to hear what they have to say about children in poverty. Here's one of them:
This year teenagers in Long Beach, California came up with a cool idea to help kids in Haiti! Hi, this is Summer Conner, a southern California child of Compassion speaking up for children in poverty! Every year there's a big race in Long Beach called the Grand Prix. And lots of people pay a lot of money to park their car to watch the race. So kids from a local church rent out the church parking lot every year to pay for a mission trip they take every year. This year they decided, instead of taking a trip, they'd give the money to kids in Haiti! And they usually raise over $3,000. That'll help a lot of kids who really need it! And the people who park in the spots like the idea they're supporting the church's teenagers! Speak up with Compassion! If these kids can make a difference for kids in poverty--so can you!
