It takes wisdom to build a house,
and understanding to set it on a firm foundation;
It takes knowledge to furnish its rooms
with fine furniture and beautiful draperies.
Proverbs 24:3 / The Message
After 25 years in the same home, I've recently been thinking quite a bit about the "firm foundation" (or not!) of my house. Between evidence of dry-rot, peeling paint, and screens pecked apart by those chirping birds I adore in the early hours of the day ... I'm wondering where my "wisdom" has gone! It's time to get back to basics!
As you might expect, there's a reason for sharing my personal challenge. Because in recognizing that I've just got to take some time to grapple with these realities, I've been reminded that many families face multiple issues--only it isn't "crumbling brick and mortar," it's a rebellious teen or an unfaithful spouse or joblessness or one of hundreds of other challenges that assail families.
And ... that is why we view it such a privilege to serve "Family Talk"--dedicated to providing hope for families, equipping husbands and wives, moms and dads, with the biblical basics that will establish a strong Christian family in today's world.
So ... thank you once again for what you are doing to come alongside of Dr. Dobson and the team at "Family Talk" to encourage those who are building homes that will stand! We're grateful!
PS More good things coming up in August when we celebrate 50 years for Dr. & Mrs. Dobson!
