It's official. Fall is back. As the kids and I settle into a new school year, homework and soccer practices, it's also a new season in my Sunday School Class. Today we started our new Bible lesson-Anne Graham Lotz's Into the Word.
It couldn't have come at a better time for our "His Alone" Sunday School Class whose members are single, divorced or married to a non-church attendee. Most of us could use the reminder of His love and His hope for our lives-for many in His Alone, a reminder from His Word is what alone carries us through life's challenges . . .
- A lay-off
- The health crisis
- An impending divorce and concern about its impact to young children
I'm not the only one who would probably admit to wondering at times how the ancient texts of the Old and New Testaments could possibly apply to the issues relevant in my life today . . . and yet, they do!
Into the Word is a spiritual study guide that leads you straight to the heart of God's Word. In a refreshing departure from other Bible studies, Anne makes a modern day reflection that is a relevant springboard into the various passages, and then asks dozens of questions, prompting you to personally dig into Scripture and discover God's specific message for yourself!
As our pastor's wife shared with us today in class, "If you get into the Word, the Word will get into you!"
And with all the other fantastic ladies in His Alone Sunday School Class, I look forward to hearing God speak to me personally through His powerful and relevant Word . . . a great way to kick off the Fall season!

P.S. Anne's one-minute daily radio feature, "Daily Light for Daily Living®" is a great way to reach busy moms (like me!) with Biblically based insights-let me know if you'd like to add it to your line-up this Fall!
