Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

Elizabeth George's Holiday Survival Kit - Part 1

Only 10 weeks until Christmas?  While it doesn't seem possible, just take a walk through the stores and you'll start feeling the pressure that the holiday season creates in most of us.

To help us keep the right perspective, Elizabeth George has recorded a new radio special titled, "A Holiday Survival Kit . . . for A Woman After God's Own Heart.  In this half-hour program, Elizabeth provides us with a plan for managing holiday stress.

Compassion is the Church's best apologetic

Pastor Max Lucado at the Make A Difference ConcertThis weekend I attended the "Make A Difference" concert with Max Lucado.  The concert was an incredible experience filled with upbeat and uplifting music by TobyMac, Third Day and Michael W. Smith.  The musicians skillfully ushered everyone into heartfelt worship as they consistently gave God the glory.  What stood out to me the most, however, was Pastor Max's presentation of God's "plan A" solution for the problem of poverty and the caring of orphans and widows - the Church!

"Compassion is the Church's best apologetic," he said.  I couldn't agree more!

Joni and Friends® - I Can!

Joni and HermanHave you ever had to prove yourself to someone? To dash stereotypes just to be given a fair shake? October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month - an issue which is very important to Joni and Friends®. And - to me.

I still remember the feeling of deflated frustration when an employer of many years ago questioned my ability to handle physically demanding tasks - my outward appearance of being an amputee sometimes pre-judges me before I even say a word. Not only did I work extra hard to prove my ability, I always felt the pressure to over do. Prove them wrong ...

October 31 -- A Christian's Response

Trick or Treat GirlGrowing up in a pastor's family, I always knew that October brought a slew of questions regarding Halloween. Were my parents going to let me Trick or Treat? Would I be doing anything but praying for people during the holiday? Would I attend a "Fall Festival" instead of a "Halloween Party"?

When I was younger, I hated these questions. It felt like people were judging my every move. But now I realize that wasn't it at all. They weren't judging...they were looking for answers. The same is still true today--I hear it at church, see it ...
