News & Insights

With 50 years of experience, we "get" that things are always changing! That's why we've dedicated a section of our website to provide the very latest information about the speakers and ministries we serve--and about us, too. Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

Back to School, Already?

While most of the country's schools are back in session, we're enjoying the final weeks of summer here in California, but acknowledging the need to start getting prepared for a new season.

I just read a recent piece by author, Elizabeth George, who reminded me that while I get my kids ready for school with new clothes and school supplies, I need to be preparing them spiritually too.

She goes onto share that part of being "A Woman After God's Own Heart" is modeling for our children a pursuit after God which means making prayer time and ...

Abel's physical and emotional healing

Abel before surgery on the Africa MercyCan I share a story that came across my desk recently with you?

Abel, like most kids in his area, enjoyed playing soccer with his friends.  In fact, he was the goal keeper!  When his friends, however, decided to ride their bikes, he would be left behind.  This was because his leg bones were bent backward at his knees.  He couldn't ride a bicycle since it requires him to sit straight on the seat and push down on the pedals.

Often ridiculed, Abel's outlook on life was very dark and his future uncertain.  His prospects, however, got much ...

The Art of Marriage

For more than three decades, FamilyLife has hosted live, hotel-based weekend marriage conferences for more than 2.5 million people in cities throughout the US.  Now, FamilyLife has created The Art of Marriage, a video based resource that makes it possible for hundreds of thousands of couples to hear the gospel and receive a biblical foundation for understanding God's purpose and plan for marriage.

Changing History, Changing Lives

There's nothing extraordinary about my 8 year old's consistent, "Why" questions:

  • "Why do we need to sleep at night?"
  • "Why is the sun hot?"

What is extraordinary though are the questions I heard from some Jr. High and High School children at church recently:

  • "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
  • "Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?"

Franklin GrahamAs Franklin Graham shares in his August ministry letter, "The largest generation in our history knows less about Jesus than any generation before, yet they have a deep hunger for truth."

And sharing the truth with teens ...

Facing Life Head On

Brad Mattes receiving Emmy AwardUnlike the Christian radio industry, good TV programming is hard to come by.  Rarely are shows thought provoking and engaging at the same time.  It's been my experience that most TV shows use sex, drugs, violence or special effects as their main story line.

Brad Mattes, host of both "Life Issues®" and "Facing Life Head On", however, knows how to do both radio and TV well.  As the executive director of the Life Issues® Institute Brad interviews individuals and families on topics like abortion, adoption, disabilities, medical technologies, stem cell treatments and end-of-life care, Brad fuses education with entertainment ...

It's All About Jesus

the crossMinistry is about people, and ministering to people is about introducing them to a person … the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords - Jesus. What I love most about the ministry of Haven Today is that the focus of the broadcast is always on Christ.  As you’ve heard Charles Morris say “… it’s all about Jesus.”

There are few things in life that encourage me more than Christian biography (whether written or heard).  We all love to hear stories about what God is and has done. Yet as much as we want listeners to get to know people like ...
