News & Insights

With 50 years of experience, we "get" that things are always changing! That's why we've dedicated a section of our website to provide the very latest information about the speakers and ministries we serve--and about us, too. Come take a look at "what's new"--or use the sidebar options to take a deeper look at areas of particular interest. In case you wonder what we think, we've dedicated a space for commentary (including guest posts). And take a look at who's been to Ambassador lately in our own version of the Greenroom!

We were heartbroken…both of us. We couldn’t have children; at least not the way most people do. God had for some reason or another given us that special gift of infertility. A gift that Hannah, Sarah, and Elizabeth were all given.  Like them, we wondered why the Lord would bless us with that emptiness.  The Bible is clear, “children are a blessing from the LORD.” Why wouldn’t He bless us?  Why would He allow unmarried teens to give birth to unwanted children? Why couldn’t we bring children into our happy, healthy, God fearing home?

It's Award Season

Charles Morris NRB AwardIt's award season.  I don't know what you were doing last Sunday Night, but I was watching the Oscars with my wife (she did most of the watching, I was playing with the kids and occasionally poking my head to in see if there were any big upsets).  My wife LOVES to watch the Oscars.  She also loves to watch hockey...so whereas the foolish husband might write something here about the frivolity of Hollywood award shows...not me.

Now I can't keep straight all these award shows...SAG, Golden Globes, Emmy, Academy Awards, Oscars.....wait... I ...

So, Why Another Women's Conference?

That's a question some might ask when they hear about True Woman '10 - a national women's conference hosted by Revive Our Hearts.

Listeners who tune in regularly to hear Nancy Leigh DeMoss already have a sense that this women's conference will be a special time.  Having personally attended the first event of this kind held in Chicago (October '08), I would say that it was one of the most spiritually impacting times in my life, having walked with the Lord for almost 30 years now.

Many women who attended the first conference shared that they returned home ...

Representing Life Issues® . . .

It's said that pictures are worth a thousand words.

The picture on the right is worth far more.

In addition to representing a commitment to the value of all life, Brad and Ellen Mattes and David Ruleman, WAVA (Washington DC) are parents of service men representing a "life issue" as important as any in which any of us will ever engage.

The "Life Issues®" Hospitality Suite time at NRB 2010 was a time to give thanks to the nearly 400 stations which join the ministry in underscoring the need to protect life.  It was also a time to remember ...

Christian Alliance for Orphans

It was an interesting week after my dad died.  I flew in to spend the week with my mom and sisters.  And each night, for a week, at exactly  7:00PM, my mother would begin her narrative.  It was the story of her life.  Her way of coping with loss.

I'd always known my mom was an orphan and ultimately adopted-twice.  But it wasn't something she dwelt on or talked about.  It was one of those family "things"; part of the mysterious background as to why we only had grandparents on my dad's side of the family ...

Marshmallows...What NRB is All About!

Stay with me!

In the days before heading off to the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville (NRB), my prayer was, "Lord, give me patient obedience."  And He seemed to say back to me, "Ev, didn't we already cover that together?"

I'm usually obedient, but rarely patient.  So my prayer was in earnest.

I thought about it as I stood in a meeting area looking for some kind of appropriate bowl for marshmallows, thinking, "Lord, is this what you had in mind when You said, 'For such a time as this?'"  And I'm relatively sure His ...
