Fundraising! It's a conversation we avoid! To the extent we'd rather do it poorly than commit to doing it full out, no holding back.
I wonder if we'd struggle with it so much if we did the task of raising funds and cultivating of relationships with gusto! Would there be less angst if we believed what we're doing in ministry truly is worth inviting others to join us?
I can't answer those questions for you. But I do want to encourage you to understand the choice you're making. True fundraising, that sustaining and cultivating of people who join you with their financial giving, happens best when you ask, with conviction, believing it's of benefit for everyone involved.
There's an exhilaration in believing what we do changes lives.
Yes, in part it's exciting because of our own efforts. But much more than that, God has invited us to be in the moment with what He's doing in hearts and lives. That motivates me!
What do you think? I'd like to hear from you. Let's start the conversation!
