Are you looking forward to taking a vacation this summer? Or maybe
you're planning a "staycation" this year, a respite in the comfort of your own home?
The idea of a vacation is to relax and get away from the norm. But, if you're not careful it can easily become exhausting and stressful - even if staying home.
Whether you decide to head out on the road, or choose to relax at home, make sure you take Emilie Barnes' recommendation to "KEEP IT SIMPLE!"
For a "staycation" Emilie suggests jotting down a few local places you might like to visit, like a museum, the zoo, the beach or mountains. Enjoy your day with a picnic or even a meal out. Or, maybe just relax with a good book!
If you will be traveling, pack light and plan ahead. Map out your adventures, not overbooking so you can leisurely enjoy them. If you are traveling with children, pack them each a backpack of activities and snacks.
And, don't forget to record your special times with pictures! Put photos in an album, journaling your summer adventures, and you've created a very simple, special memory.
Have a wonderful summer!
