Born Again

Very few of us will ever experience the stopping of our hearts and live to tell the story! Brad Mattes, Director of the Life Issues^® Institute, is a rare exception! Although surgeons performed (successfully) major heart surgery on him only a month and a half ago, Brad is already on his feet. In fact, he's already recoded an episode of "Facing Life Head On" and is ahead of schedule for his daily radio feature, "Life Issues^®!" Thank you for your prayers!

What I wanted to share with you today is what Brad wrote a few days before the surgery:

"As sobering as the recent details have been, I continue to go into surgery at peace and confident my Heavenly Father has my best interests at heart. (No pun intended!)  Yesterday gave me excellent opportunities to share my faith with the anesthesiologist and a couple of nurses."

In a recent blog, I wrote that Brad is one of my heroes. This is one of the many reasons why! Even as he faced major heart surgery, he was concerned about the lives of others. He wants everyone to not only live, but to have eternal life as well.

In order for a person to be 'born again', however, they need to be born in the first place! This is what Brad and the rest of his team at the Life Issues^® Institute is all about. "Life Issues^®" is all about educating and changing the lives of people so that abortion mills are a thing of the past.

Just as William Wilberforce once boldly staunched the slave trade, men and women like Brad are leading the effort to do the same for abortion. 

Thank you for your support and partnership in ensuring that every baby has the chance to hear the gospel of Christ. Together, let's make sure that no more innocent lives have their hearts stopped by abortion.
