As I'm sure you are already aware, the internet is flooded with articles, photos and other comments about Steve Jobs. Of the millions of comments, I want to talk to you about a comment by Brad Mattes, Director of the Life Issues® Institute, which changed the conversation for me:
"World mourns Steve Jobs who was adopted. Imagine the world's loss if his mother had aborted him! Imagine all the others we've already lost." - @BradMattes
Steve's mother could never have imagined that her son would accomplish all that he did. Had she aborted him the world would not have known about the iPod, iPhone or iPad . . . let alone the Mac. We would have never seen "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo," "The Incredibles," "Monsters, Inc," or any of the Pixar movies.
Steve Jobs, undoubtedly, changed our culture -- the way we use computers, listen to music, approach phones and view entertainment - and I am thankful for Steve Jobs life.
The point made by Brad Mattes, host of "Life Issues®", however, wasn't focused on Steve Jobs, as much as it was about the countless babies who have not been given chance at living life at all! We will never know what incredible ideas, insights and innovations that these people would have contributed to our society. More importantly, these aborted children will never smile, sing and skip . . . or know the incredible love of their Lord Jesus Christ while living on earth.
The loss, however, isn't limited to the child. In fact, fathers and mothers mourn the loss of their child, and brothers and sisters are affected by their lost sibling.
"My dear son, today you might have won your first baseball game. . ."
"My beautiful daughter, today would have been the day when you graduated from high school . . ."
"Dear ____, today you might have helped uncover the cure for breast cancer . . ."
Death naturally brings these questions into mind, which only makes Brad's question all that more pertinent! Who have we lost to abortion? According to Planned Parenthood, 332,278 abortions were performed in 2009 alone. This is clearly 332,278 too many abortions and something must be done about this!
If you aren't already airing the daily 1:00 "Life Issues®" feature, please call me at 949-681-7626 or email me at kiyong@ambaa.com. Brad desires for no more babies to be lost to abortion - and today, we can help him achieve this goal!
To the almost 1000 outlets that are airing "Life Issues®," I want to personally say "thank you" for your commitment to life. I have no doubt that you are helping shape and mold our culture - perhaps one day all babies will be free from the option of abortion. We couldn't do it without your help!
Finally, you can pray for Brad. In a few days, he will be heading out to Santiago, Chile to minister to the men who struggle with the guilt, anger and depression that has resulted from an aborted child. Please join me in praying for Brad as he asks God to bring healing into these men's lives in Jesus name.
