When was the last time you heard a great story of God working in a far away country that happened, not "once upon a time", but last week?
"Beyond the Call" will dedicate four programs to real-time stories Tuesday, 10/11 through Friday, 10/14 as HCJB Global's President Wayne Pederson reports from Central Asia. Here's one of those stories:
I'm Wayne Pederson, president of HCJB GLOBAL, on location in Central Asia with BEYOND THE CALL. I'm in a large city in Central Asia. I can't name the city or the country, because it would endanger the safety of our partners here.
Dema was a talented guitarist in a popular band in this country. But music led to parties, and parties led to drugs. Soon his life, his career and his talents were on the rocks. Heavy drugs were destroying his life.
Hitting bottom emotionally, physically and spiritually, Dema turned to a Teen Challenge center right here in Central Asia. While there, he turned his life over to Jesus Christ. His heavy drug addiction is a thing of the past.
This year, HCJB GLOBAL helped a partner in this city build and install a state of the art, digital recording studio. This studio will be used to record new Christian music in the language of the people, to be distributed on MP3, CD, and Internet.
And guess who's the engineer and producer in this new studio. Yes, it's Dema, the burned out guitar player, now playing and producing for Jesus.
Don't ever give up. Go BEYOND THE CALL.
