A Special Thankgiving Letter from Brad Mattes

Once a year, a grateful nation celebrates Thanksgiving. In addition to the turkey, ham and pumpkin pie that I'm sure we'll all enjoy this year, I wanted to share with you some things that I'm thankful for!

First (and foremost on my mind), I'm extremely grateful for the successful surgery on my heart this July. The procedure was foremost on my mind because it focused my attention on what I'm most thankful for-eternal life with Jesus.  Because of Him I went into that surgery at total peace, knowing if things took a turn for the worse, I'd walk into His waiting and loving arms. Thanks to your ministry, many of your listeners have this same assurance.

The skillful Christian surgeon and nurses helped repair my "broken-heart" with a 95% confidence level that the valve repair will last a lifetime! Praise God! Since then, I've even been able to travel to Santiago, Chile in order to minister to men who are dealing with the abortion of their children.  Thank you again for all your prayers.

I'm also thankful for the safe return of my son, Nick, an Iraqi veteran. Just a few weeks ago, he completed his military commitment with the National Guard. Ellen and I are thankful for his service to our country and for helping keeping all of us safe! Of course, we are mindful of the families who will have a very different Thanksgiving this year because of the loss of their son/daughter. Please keep these families in prayer and thank them for the lifetime sacrifice they have made.

Finally, this year marked the 20^th anniversary for the Life Issues^® Institute. I am thankful for the work that we've been able to do in order to save and protect the lives of the unborn. Our radio, TV and website outreach educates tens of millions every week about abortion and related life issues.  In addition, we're reaching the Black community with the truth the abortion industry is targeting their communities.   

Of course, we couldn't do this without your help! As you may know, this year also marked the 8^th year of our one-minute commentary, "Life Issues^®." Because of your incredible partnership, we experienced a 72% increase in the outlets that carry our program this year alone! Now on over 1,000 outlets, together we are helping educate more people on the life issues! 

Thanks to all of YOU for serving the Lord with excellence. It's an honor to labor in the vineyard with you!
