Keeping the "Social" in Media

Bored With Social MediaIf you've worked much with Social Media...you know how easy it is to lose the "social" aspect! Your organization's Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn or whatever platform you're on somehow slips from being a social tool into a boring chore. And the tragic part is...there's no hiding it!

When an organization becomes bored with the social side of Media, it's all too apparent. Posts, tweets and conversations are stilted and un-engaging. Interaction diminishes and content generation is nowhere to be found. And the truth is, it's incredible easy to have this happen!

There's a fine balance in the world of social media. It's a delicate mix of strategy, engagement and creativity. There are complete opposites that both have to live in your social media (like planning and spontaneity, creativity and regular routine, social and business).

But here's the key: To be spontaneous, creative and social--you must know how to plan, be regular and represent your business in the Social World.

Learning the platforms well, so you know every opportunity and functionality at your disposal, allows you to enjoy social media much more. You're not wondering how you can do social media...you're just selecting the best choices in social media for your organization. You're not confused by strategy or regulations...you're just making sure your creative engagement fits within the parameters of "what works."

If you're new to Social Media and wondering where to start--let me make a suggestion. RSVP Today for an Ambassador Webinar: "Social Media 101: Joining the Conversation!" It's taking place on Thursday, May 5 @ 9:00 AM PST. Space is limited and will go on a "first come, first serve" basis. This will be a time for a "30,000 foot view" of the Social Media Platforms and provide an introduction into some of the functionality that will take your creative engagement further!

In the world of Social Media--you've got to plan to for engagement!
