Google's Homepage Doodle GuitarAn email appeared in my inbox with the subject line "GOOGLE."  It came from a co-worker whose office is seven doors away from mine.  I thought, Hmm, what has Google done now?  The email said:

Teaching Children To Honor Our Soldiers

As a mom of three (including a recent high school graduate!), I'm very mindful of my parental responsibilities--moms and dads know that it is our duty to teach, guide and encourage our children as well as our privilege to help them grow in their relationship with Christ.

Recently though, I learned an important lesson from a 5 year old boy named Fred.

Fred is one of my AWANA Sparks and on Memorial Day, he told his mother he wanted to go to the cemetery and place flags for the dead soldiers.

BGEA -- Updates from Joplin

June is a month typically known for graduations, weddings and summer vacations.  But for the Joplin, Missouri community, this June is anything but typical.

For the 50,000 in the small town, June comes with significant losses .  . . neighbors, friends and relatives whose lives were lost in the May 22nd tornado.

As the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's Rapid Response Team (RRT) continues to minister in Joplin, they invite you to share with your listeners, a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what they're seeing in Joplin and how they are encouraging the community.

Simple Pleasures

Keep It Simple June 2011 Blog

Are you so busy that you don't take time to really relax?  Why not try focusing on the simple things in life that make you smile?  After a few minutes, you'll find yourself relaxing, and smiling... a good combination!  

Emilie Barnes has a wonderful list of "simple pleasures."  When she begins to feel stressed, she takes a moment to think about the things she enjoys - things that make her smile.
