Have you ever noticed how moods are contagious?
Whether it is an in-person encounter or over the airwaves, both good and bad moods are infectious and easily passed from one person to another.
The same applies to acts of mercy!
Mercy Ships® continues to be devoted to bringing hope and healing to the world's forgotten poor. Through this dedication the influence and work of mercy continues to spread far beyond the walls of the ship and the ports it docks in.
This week on a Mercy Minute Don Stephens told us about William's internet business in Lome Togo. Here he is able to provide not just computer lessons and usage to the community, but free computer usage and lessons to those who aren't able to afford it. This is a wonderful way William is able to spread the contagion of mercy because without the sponsorship of Dr. Keith Thompson, a volunteer doctor aboard the Africa Mercy, William would not have the thriving business he does today.
In the same way, a new vision and ministry was opened up in Lyberia with the establishment of a dental facility. Trinity Dental was opened in 2008 and is still in operation today thanks to the exposure Keith Chapman had as a dentist serving with Mercy Ships® to the need in Africa. That same ministry has now spread back to the states where Keith serves the lower-income families of the Nashville area.
What a blessing it is to see the rippling of mercy spreading across the world thanks to the contagious dedication of Mercy Ships®.
Serving with you,
Melissa Maudlin
