Has this ever happened to you? I was going through my morning round of email sorting and began the usual routine of filtering messages -- I need to do this, I will read this later, I'm replying to this now, etc. I quickly read an email about Compassion's Blog Month in September and the exciting opportunity to join writers in changing the world for children in poverty. I should tell so-and-so about this, I thought. I continued clicking away at my inbox without another thought. This went on for a few minutes when I realized Someone had been tapping on my shoulder. Probably for a while, if I'm honest. I blinked to focus on the Voice and felt Him say something like, That opportunity you said was for so-and-so. I want you to do it. Oh...dear. I shook my head back and forth like a Magic 8 ball -- maybe the message would be different. It was the same -- and clearer!
Sometimes, speaking up with Compassion is for me not them. It's for now not someday. Each day, Christian stations around the country "Speak Up With Compassion®" through Compassion International's daily radio program. And this September, bloggers are joining them.
