One of the very special blessings in life is the gift of being a grandparent. If you are a grandparent, you know just what I mean -- that smile, just for you from your sweet grandchild, no matter how old, that says, "I love you!"
Or, maybe you have been blessed with a special grandparent in your life. Someone to look up to, someone you know always prays for you. Someone who used to sneak you an extra cookie, or dig into their pocketful of change and share it with you.
Emilie Barnes of Keep It Simple is the proud grandparent of five grandchildren! She loves this phase of life as "Grammy" and is very active in her grandchildren's lives. She embraces the important role of being a grandparent, and wants to encourage other grandparents, to share their faith, life, and love with their grandchildren.
This September 9th we honor grandparents everywhere, as we celebrate "Grandparents Day." In addition to your own family, why not find a grandparent in your neighborhood or church to wish a "Happy Grandparent Day!"
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, until I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.
