On any given day, we hear stories about peoples' lives . . . common, everyday stories.  Then, there are stories that you can never forget -- like those of Liz Carl and Jason Lovins.  So impacting are their stories that the Sanctity of Life radio special for January 20, 2013 from Life Issues^®, "A Choice to Love" will feature both. 

Liz Carl was 17 when she was raped - a senior in high school.  Her journey from seeking an abortion to ultimately deciding to give birth and give her baby up for adoption is a story of vulnerability, transparency and God's blessings.

The Pew Research Center has recently released a poll indicating that one out of every three people under the age of 30 say they have no religious affiliation.  The trends over the last five years are alarming as the number of Americans who say they have no religious affiliation is now at a staggering 46 million people.

And while 68 percent of those people say they believe in God, almost all report they are not looking for a religion that is right for them.

Have you ever felt like you were going to die?  I mean, you really thought "This is it."

I have. 

One particular instance was in the late '70's when I was riding in a van with a group of American college students.  We were in an Asian country where the streets were suddenly filling with protestors.  They were declaring their hatred for both the U.S. and Christianity.  As a group of believers from the U.S., it was clear we were the very types of people the group so deeply hated.

We have a room here at Ambassador that has fabulous acoustics. It's really a racquetball court, but it gets used more for singing hymns than playing racquetball.

I'm not much of a singer at all, but I love when my coworkers, with their lovely voices, go into the racquetball court and sing. Recently, I heard them singing the "Doxology." The worship strains were beautiful and filled me with praise and thanks to God.

Today is Election Day and two years ago, Chuck Colson recorded what would be his last BreakPoint^® commentary on a national election.  If you have any doubt as a Christian whether or not you should vote this year, please, please listen to Chuck's impassioned plea (as shared on today's BreakPoint^® broadcast).  I don't think you'll hear a better explanation of why we, as Christians, out of love for our neighbors, must stay involved in the political process.

Change is so pervasive in our lives that it almost defeats description and analysis.

There are different forms of change though. There's the simple change . . . like when my 10 year old daughter changes her outfit 3-5 times in the morning before school before choosing the "right one."

Then, there's the more significant change that's all over the news right now with Election Day here and both Presidential candidates standing on their own respective platform of economic, social and political change.
