Ministry Updates

My deepest desire is to be a Woman after God's Own Heart . . .  a godly woman.  One molded by and used of God.  And, without God's leading and intervention it won't happen.  That is my daily prayer.

Elizabeth George (A Woman after God's Own Heart) says that praying to become a godly woman is a worthy prayer, but she also asks, "What does a godly woman do?  How does she act?  What is it about her that marks her out as a godly woman?"

Those are the answers I need.   Elizabeth points to Titus 2:3-5 where you will find the character qualities of a godly woman.  She says the 10 most important priorities for women are:

Godly Speech

Love of Husband

Love of Family

Love of Home

Personal Discipline

Ministry to Others

Christ-like Behavior

If you share Elizabeth's and my prayer to become a godly woman, read Titus 2:3-5 and ask God to show you how to develop these qualities in your life.  It won't be an overnight change, but it will be well worth the end results!

The Value of Life and the Future of Our Nation

Edmund Burke once said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

That's why every day on "Life Issues®," Brad Mattes is committed to encouraging, educating and supporting listeners regarding the value of innocent human life:

"I think of our radio program Life Issues® as a life-saving tool. Every week day, our goal is to teach listeners how to be an advocate for the protection of innocent human life."

And with the upcoming election in November, now is the time to take a stance on life saving issues.  Critical decisions are ...

The One Thing Anne Graham Lotz Would Say to Parents

Every family has its own language.  Ours is no exception. A common phrase you'll hear at our house is "just keeping it real."

If I try a new recipe and ask the kids what they think, there's been occasion, (ok, maybe a few), when they've said I didn't need to make that meal again. Next is the we're "just keeping it real" line.  There's no pretense.  It's about being authentic.

Anne Graham Lotz shares in a recent video interview on ParentCompass.TV that the one thing she would say to parents who are ...

Joni Eareckson Tada Says, "Try Something New!"

My son-in-law text me from Catalina Island where he'd taken my daughter for her birthday.  While looking at renting a golf cart for a leisurely cruise around the island, he told Rachel that she could do whatever she wanted because it was her birthday.

Much to my son-in-law's chagrin, Rachel told him she wanted to go parasailing -- that's my adventurous 23 year old!

While I've been known to have a bit of an adventuresome spirit, with 51 looming on the horizon, it's not as vibrant of a spirit as it once was . . . and, so no ...

Great Marriages Don't Just Happen

WTR Banner

When I got married in 1995, it never occurred to me that my Marine husband and I would immediately have struggles.  I was extremely hopeful that getting married would provide me with a companion and a father for my then 11-year old son.  Well, it did that, but not without a lot of heartache, disappointment, and many challenges.

Six months after we were married, Ambassador offered to sponsor the married couples on staff to attend a local FamilyLife marriage conference.  Honestly, looking back it was the best and most timely gift we ever received!  And while the challenges of being ...

It's Time to Cry Out!

"There is nothing that moves a loving father's soul quite like his child's cry."

-Joni Eareckson Tada

If you asked your listeners what the cry of their heart is, it might be wisdom for raising their children, a better marriage, relief from a chronic illness, or for someone to fill a lonely void in their life.  Each of us has some kind of burden on our heart, and it's right to cry out to God for these situations, but Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth is challenging us to cry out for something even bigger--to cry out for the kingdom ...
