Ministry Updates

My deepest desire is to be a Woman after God's Own Heart . . .  a godly woman.  One molded by and used of God.  And, without God's leading and intervention it won't happen.  That is my daily prayer.

Elizabeth George (A Woman after God's Own Heart) says that praying to become a godly woman is a worthy prayer, but she also asks, "What does a godly woman do?  How does she act?  What is it about her that marks her out as a godly woman?"

Those are the answers I need.   Elizabeth points to Titus 2:3-5 where you will find the character qualities of a godly woman.  She says the 10 most important priorities for women are:

Wisdom

Godly Speech

Love of Husband

Love of Family

Love of Home

Purity

Personal Discipline

Goodness

Ministry to Others

Christ-like Behavior

If you share Elizabeth's and my prayer to become a godly woman, read Titus 2:3-5 and ask God to show you how to develop these qualities in your life.  It won't be an overnight change, but it will be well worth the end results!

Blessings,

Sheri Cooper

What Your Listeners Get on Janet Mefferd Today

Janet-Mefferd-Today-radio

Monday is here.  A new week, a refreshed vision for life and work.  The morning sped by and the lunch crowd is gathering in the kitchen.  Approaching the dining area, you hear excited chattering, fridge door revolving, microwave beeping, toaster toasting.  Enter the lunch room and you see a group of Ambassador employees sharing family stories, new recipes, church sermons, and viral videos.

This is actually the case not only Monday, but most weekdays in our office.  And our conversations inevitably turn to current events, religious freedom, and the day's news.  We dissect stories together, ask questions, and share ...

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month

There's a guy at church named Scott who says I'm his girlfriend.

The reality is I'm just one of the many he refers to as his girlfriend.

Scott is special for a lot of reasons - he's quick to smile, likes everyone and is always eager to help.   Scott is near and dear to the hearts of many  . . . including mine.  Scott is 17 year olds and has Down syndrome.

Just as the other children in our church whom I've watched grow up, Scott has a special place in my heart.  He's taught me many things ...

God's Promise

God's PromisesPsalm 32:8 is one of my favorite psalms!  "I will instruct you says the Lord God and teach you in the way you should go.  I will guide you with my eye."  It brings me great comfort to know God is directing me in His will, if I will listen!  Do you need this promise today about something going on in your life?

On "A Woman after God's Own Heart" this month, Elizabeth George, has many encouraging programs addressing different situations you may be facing -- (10/19) New Habits; (10/23) Making it Through the Dark; (10/28 ...

Why An Unfulfilled Dream Might Just Be A Good Thing

womenHave you ever had a big dream about to come to fruition when all of the sudden something unexpected knocks you off your feet, leaving you feeling discouraged, hopeless, and pretty much anything but joyful and fulfilled?

This happens to a staggering number of women during childbirth in Madagascar, where Mercy Ships® is currently serving.  These women dream of having a baby and becoming a mother, but develop a childbirth injury called Obstetric Fistula.

After a long and painful delivery these women receive another burden rather than rest, and often feel isolated, devastated, embarrassed, and worthless. The pure joy of ...

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

In the Great Commission, Jesus gave us the first mission of the church. That's why making disciples is an important duty for every Christian.  Yet, I have been to many church budget meetings where the ...

Joni's Live It Out Birthday Campaign

You may have seen it -- a photo of a young man comforting a special needs man on a bus went viral this past week. The 21 year-old student, Godfrey Cuotto got on a crowded bus and a man sitting near the front reached out to shake his hand.  The Huffington Post reports that Cuotto was taken aback initially, but then he shook Robert's hand.

"He kept holding my hand," Cutto told the Huffington Post Canada. "He just needed comfort. Sometimes you just have to be selfless and put someone else's needs above yours."

It's a simple story ...
