Ministry Updates

The 3 Most Important Parts of Ministry

As the new Director of The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove, Will Graham, grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham, is keenly aware of the need to get away and reconnect with God.

"It was always (Billy Graham's) vision to be a place to get away and get into God's Word," Will said to a roomful of local and Christian media outlets recently.

The Billy Graham Training Center was founded in 1988 and has extended its reach by streaming LIVE video sessions over the internet.  The Cove's website is cutting edge with virtual tours, interactive floor ...

Be Prepared To Give An Answer

As an older Christian (having placed my faith in Christ as a teenager), I'd like to think I'm prepared to share about my beliefs.  The reality is we need to be diligent in that commitment.

Joni Eareckson Tada just returned from the Wilberforce Weekend in Washington DC where she was recognized by The Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview with the 2012 William Wilberforce Award honoring her work on behalf of the disabled and her stands against social injustice.

"The Colson Center helps Christians develop an informed worldview that sees, understands and engages the world from a biblical ...

My Visit to The Heritage Foundation

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit The Heritage Foundation while in the Washington DC area.  Founded in 1973, Heritage is located just a few steps away from Constitution Avenue and occupies a prominent place just up from the Capitol, situated among the various Senate buildings.  (I'm pictured here with Keesha Bullock, Director of Strategic Marketing for Heritage)

Heritage's stated mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

The foundation took a leading role in the conservative movement ...

He's still a Young Man!

60 is the new 40 – or so they say.  I for one believe it. The reason I believe it is because of Charles Morris.  He’s got a mind like a steel trap.  He remembers your name, and the name of your kids.  He keeps up with the tyrannical pace of daily radio with HAVEN Today and HAVEN Now (and I’m not talking about taking a 50 minute message and cutting it up in 3 parts).  I wonder how he gets it all done – writing the programs, leading the ministry, meeting with station partners, keeping an eye on all ...

To Set Free & Be Set Free

Mercy Ships® Sevenly T

To liberate means to set free.

Set free from what? For millions in Africa that might mean freedom from imprisonment, bondage, oppression, social or economic constraints, discrimination or physical maladies.

This, in fact, is the daily mission of Mercy Ships®.

Since my time at Ambassador it has been wonderful to learn of Mercy Ships® and their mission of liberation. This mission is only possible because of partners like yourself!

When supporting an organization it can sometimes be tempting to look at overall, hard numbers in order to judge the impact being made. This means that since 1978 Mercy Ships® has ...

The Power of Story

Fearless BookI grew up reading Max Lucado's books for children. Stories of Punchinello and his efforts to fit in and be loved in You are Mine and You are Special.

As I got older I began babysitting for kids who loved the stories of Hermie the common caterpillar who learned lessons of God's love and commandments in the garden.

Now that I am older I spent the weekend reading his book Fearless where Max discusses the power of a life without fear...a power that God has given us but that we hardly utilize.

When looking back upon these ...
