Ministry Updates

My deepest desire is to be a Woman after God's Own Heart . . .  a godly woman.  One molded by and used of God.  And, without God's leading and intervention it won't happen.  That is my daily prayer.

Elizabeth George (A Woman after God's Own Heart) says that praying to become a godly woman is a worthy prayer, but she also asks, "What does a godly woman do?  How does she act?  What is it about her that marks her out as a godly woman?"

Those are the answers I need.   Elizabeth points to Titus 2:3-5 where you will find the character qualities of a godly woman.  She says the 10 most important priorities for women are:

Godly Speech

Love of Husband

Love of Family

Love of Home

Personal Discipline

Ministry to Others

Christ-like Behavior

If you share Elizabeth's and my prayer to become a godly woman, read Titus 2:3-5 and ask God to show you how to develop these qualities in your life.  It won't be an overnight change, but it will be well worth the end results!

Olympic Lingerings

As quickly as the Olympics came, they're nearly done. But three memories in particular will linger for me.

First, of course, "Zika."  The infectious story will remain long after Sunday's closing celebration.  Frankly, we may not live to see the end of the consequences of the Zika virus.  Currently, there's no vaccine nor any medicine capable of treating the disease.

Secondly, "The Water."  How is it possible a city as cosmopolitan as Rio can allow their harbor, and several race sites, be so polluted with human waste?  It's left a stench-filled mark on both the city ...

It Only Takes a Spark

One of my favorite memories from college was time spent in my sorority house.  Alpha Delta Pi was founded on the highest ideals of Christian womanhood and after Monday night dinners, we'd often sing Christian songs -- one of my favorites was "It Only Takes a Spark."  The first stanza always spoke to me:

It only takes a spark

To get a fire going

And soon all those around

Can warm up in its glowing

That's how it is with God's love

Once you've experienced it

You spread His love to ev'ryone

You want to pass ...

Life Issues® Take-Away

One of the frequent questions we ask at Ambassador is, "What's the take-away?"

We know the inherent value of listeners hearing a message on the radio and walking away from it with answers to questions like:

- Why is that important?

- How does that affect me?

- Now what?

In "Life issues" programming, Brad Mattes provides listeners with valuable take-away - here are three examples from recent programs:

Ben Watson on Planned Parenthood

"Professional athletes make a huge impact on young people.  In the case of Baltimore Ravens tight end, Ben Watson, he's making the right impact.  Ben's already known ...

What Your Listeners Need to Know

Men Study

There's no doubt about it.  We're living in an increasingly hostile culture these days.  It's now more important than ever to equip ourselves (and your listeners) with God's truth.  With that in mind, and so your listeners can make plans to tune in, here's what your listeners need to know about "Grace to You®" programming and resources offered this month that'll prepare them for the days ahead.

First, John MacArthur continues his brand-new study on What Jesus Wants the Church to Know.  He takes listeners through the first two chapters of Revelation and ...

The Lord's Prayer

A prayer that contains it all . . .

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." - Matthew 6:9-13

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth says, "It seems that most of us struggle with the spiritual discipline of prayer.  We feel guilty because we know we should be praying more than we do, and prayer is something we don't always ...

Why You Don’t Get Gold Stars in Evangelism

It's not usually the first word that comes to mind when you think about comedy shows.  But as I listened to a conversation between two Christian comediansTim Hawkins and Michael Jr.I was struck by the weight of their thoughts.

The men discussed their transformation as performers when they moved from a mentality of trying to "get" laughs out of people ... to giving their audience the opportunity to laugh.

It's a transition from self-focused to others-focused.

And the truth is, comedian or notwe can all apply that "give" outlook to our lives!  Barry Meguiar is ...
