"It's My Way of Giving Back"

It was a delight to visit with speaker and author Elizabeth George at the NRB Convention in Nashville and hear her say to station partners that providing her daily radio feature and seasonal specials is her way of "giving back," sharing out of the blessings she's received through successful sales of her books.

In fact, her best-seller, "A Woman After God's Own Heart" just reached the milestone of ONE MILLION copies sold!  This book has served as a biblical guide for women desiring to follow God and seek His heart in every area of life.

We have another ...

Moments with Joni and Friends® Family Retreats

Fun at Joni and Friends® Family RetreatHave you ever had a "moment"? There are several kinds. There's the "I left the coffee on the roof of the car" moment and the "my tag is hanging out of my shirt" moment. And then there are moments. You know which ones I mean. Time itself stands still, you feel an uprising of warmth and emotion from deep within and you know - God has spoken. I had one of those moments recently at NRB at a special station gathering regarding Joni and Friends® Family Retreats.

The Song In My Head

My Savior, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.

These are the words on my mind today.

"Mighty to Save" is the song in my head.

Haiti is what's on my heart.

Healing 4 Haiti* is the focus of a brand new CD just released from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.   The CD includes music from more than a dozen award-winning artists including Michael W. Smith, Flyleaf, Mary Mary and others who have combined their musical talents to help make sure desperately needed relief supplies continue ...

Tears and Tweets from Haiti

If you follow Compassion International President (and speaker for "Speak Up With Compassion®") Wess Stafford on twitter, then you saw these tweets last week during his visit to Haiti:

Wess Stafford tweeting from Haiti

In between tweets Wess had time to call in to record his first-hand report for "Speak Up With Compassion®" - airing Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16-17.

"They say that all the children now have two birthdays . . . the day they were born and January 12 when their country was reborn.  This is a moment in the history of this country where the Church is rising up.  It is the only viable, credible institution ...

A Broken Clock is Right Twice a Day...

Chuck Colson and Mark Earley at NRB 2010While eating dinner with a friend recently we were diving into one of my favorite conversations-an apologetic for the Christian worldview. About midway through she made an incredibly poignant statement (not only because we've just passed day light saving time, but also because of the truth in such a simple comment):

"A broken clock is right twice a day...but a clock set to the wrong time is never right."

What an incredible insight into worldview. We're all bound to be wrong at times with our beliefs-we're "broken," finite and deprived. But, when we set our entire ...

So, Why Another Women's Conference?

That's a question some might ask when they hear about True Woman '10 - a national women's conference hosted by Revive Our Hearts.

Listeners who tune in regularly to hear Nancy Leigh DeMoss already have a sense that this women's conference will be a special time.  Having personally attended the first event of this kind held in Chicago (October '08), I would say that it was one of the most spiritually impacting times in my life, having walked with the Lord for almost 30 years now.

Many women who attended the first conference shared that they returned home ...
