Joni and Friends® - Seeing Stars

Joni and KenWhen I was little, I would gaze at the night sky. Shooting stars, the Milky Way, constellations - we could see it all from our backyard.

I remember thinking how small I was and how expansive everything else seemed to be. The world, and just how big it was, was lost on the 8th grader with braces and glasses and a pint-size view of life.

And now that I'm an adult (for the most part), the world still seems big. Vast. Enormous. Which makes the impact Joni and Friends® is having around the globe so truly amazing!

Calling all Heroes

Who calls you "their hero"?
Compassion International is giving people the chance to be somebody's hero.  And not just any somebody -- a child in poverty.  These children don't require their hero to wear a cape, fly or own a white horse.  All they need is someone who cares and who will show them that God cares.

Global church initiative
Churches around the world will be focusing on the least of these on Sunday, September 26 for a special Global Compassion Sunday. Please join us in prayer for many heroes to step up and choose to rescue children from ...

Showing Up for the Journey

We're just realizing we're more broken then we ever even imagined ... it's not about how we're going to get this all patched up ... it's how we're going to trust God to be enough.  Is His grace really sufficient as He says and can we really rest in that, trust in that, anchor to that? ... Getting Into the Word

It's official.  Fall is back.   As the kids and I settle into a new school year, homework and soccer practices, it's also a new season in my Sunday School Class.  Today we started our new Bible lesson-Anne Graham Lotz's Into the Word.

It couldn't have come at a better time for our "His Alone" Sunday School Class whose members are single, divorced or married to a non-church attendee.  Most of us could use the reminder of His love and His hope for our lives-for many in His Alone, a reminder from His Word is what ...

Why Should I Believe in the Bible?

We have various Bibles in our home ... NKJ, NIV, NASB and even one in contemporary language.  My favorite though is a study Bible that was given to me by the Ambassador team in July 1996, when I left to join my husband in Okinawa where he was serving in the Marine Corps.  Being a fairly new Christian at the time, married only a year, with a 12 year old son ... that Bible became my stronghold during some very challenging days.  But through the years it has also become instruction, nourishment, and encouragement in my life and walk with Christ.

Igniting a Movement

There are days when trying to be a godly woman and living counter-culturally can feel like salmon swimming upstream.  It’s a constant battle to stay “up” against a powerful force – a culture that says it’s okay to give up and give in to what feels good at the moment.

In serving the ministry of Revive Our Hearts, it’s very encouraging when you read a listener email from a young woman whose life illustrates the change God can bring about through the daily broadcast and the True Woman Movement.  I hope her words will encourage you, too:

Over ...
