National Grandparents Day is an annual observance in the United States that honors grandparents and other seniors, and seeks to strengthen relationships between the generations.
When is Grandparents Day?
Grandparents Day is celebrated each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day and falls on Sunday, September 11th this year.
How Did Grandparents Day Begin?
National Grandparents Day was created in 1978 by a federal proclamation, passed by Congress and signed by President Jimmy Carter. National Grandparents Day was first celebrated on Sunday, September 9, 1979.

It's not just a piece of cloth. It's a symbol of the freedom so many (including my father) fought for and the good life we live. It represents the sacrifice of those who served and unites us all as Americans. The flag is a symbol for freedom, equality, and justice.

My first job as a high school student was at the local grocery store. Usually hands-on in the market's coffee kiosk, I enjoyed the days when I got to write and announce in-store intercom messages—usually a reminder for customers to "Be sure you grab coffee while you're shopping! We're located at the southwest end of the store!"

We've started a series of blogs which will present and then analyze results from Ambassador's commissioned study on the value of Christian radio. Our partner in the study, Edison Research, annually has presented survey results (with Arbitron) of general media consumption. Today, two slides will present insight on radio's piece of the media market.
For many years, there was a fear that on-line and mobile media consumption would erode the audience for traditional broadcast facilities. However, the slide below indicates that the total time spent listening has actually grown in the last 10 years.

In the spring of 2013, Ambassador commissioned Edison Research to help us ascertain the value that constituents place on radio. Ultimately, our goal was to use this data to then help ministries with the value they should place on radio.
