God's Gladiator

  • Sunday, August 23, 2015

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me -- the task of testifying to the Gospel of God's grace."

Those are the words of Daniel Milton Lotz, husband of Anne Graham Lotz who graduated to his eternal home last week.  (You can listen here to Danny articulate his faith as recorded in March 2015.)

One might think it's because I have three children that I am so drawn to life testimonies committed to Christ.  In a world so focused on wealth ...

God's Sufficient Grace

  • Monday, July 6, 2015

"I could use your prayers right now."

"I really need to see God's inexplicable love right now."

Those are two of the recent texts on my phone.   They came from a dear friend who is walking through a deep valley.

As I was  encouraging her with Bible verses about God's love and promises, I also sent her the link to a recent "Daily Light for Daily Living®" the daily 1:00 feature from Anne Graham Lotz - the program was titled, "God 's Sufficient Grace:"

"What's troubling you right now?  Is it sickness? Loss of a job? Did ...

While we do not enjoy many meals around the table as a family these days - my two oldest children are young adults with careers and college, we do manage to gather once or twice a week.   And to this day, we still rotate the privilege of saying the prayer before the meal which thankfully, has become part of our family tapestry.

Mayday! Mayday!

Walking out of a Christian bookstore recently, a man stepped towards me and asked, "Are you a Christian?"

I answered, "yes."  He walked away.

I got in my car and thought about how strange the encounter had been.  Though I didn't feel in any danger, it was odd and I have to admit, it made me feel a bit uneasy.  It brought to mind the "Cassie Bernalls" around the world --- those on domestic and foreign ground who are asked this same question  . . . at gun-point.

Anne Graham Lotz shares in a recent blog about the profound impact she felt when ...

A Mother's Legacy

  • Monday, April 20, 2015

The profile on Anne Graham Lotz's Twitter page reads: "Bible Teacher aimed at evangelizing the lost, reviving the hearts of God's people through exalting Jesus and proclaiming God's Word."

There are a lot of reasons why Anne is admired and cherished by many - her steadfastness to God's Word and commitment to revival in His people are just two of the many.

Personally, the list of reasons why I admire Anne is very long.  One reason in particular comes to mind often these days with Mother's Day quickly approaching -- the role of mothers in our lives ...

Evolving Technology and the Never Changing Gospel

  • Monday, March 23, 2015

I use to work summers at my dad’s TV stores.  We sold everything from TVs with picture tubes to solid state, from console TVs to portables.

Today, while not a fully fledged tech geek, I am fascinated with all the tech advancements which have changed the world . . . technology which has made the world a smaller place.

In my Sunday School Class this past weekend, technology helped us connect with a dear sister in Christ serving in Vietnam.  We Face-Timed Angela and studied a devotional lesson together - her sitting across the world in her living in Vietnam and our class ...
