It's over.  But not forgotten.  It was history in the making.  The close Super Bowl contest between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers scored the highest rating share in history for the game, based on Nielsen's top U.S. television markets. Viewership was so high that it was the most-watched TV event in U.S. history!

Other incredible Super Bowl figures include:

$4 million: cost of some of the Super Bowl's 30-second spots.  That's up from $3.5 million last year.

Billy Graham Among Most Admired 56th Time

  • Monday, January 7, 2013

The Gallup Poll's annual Most Admired Men or Women surveys, conducted over the past 50 years, provide a fascinating portrait of the prominent personalities on the U.S. and the world stage.  And, in a world that has experienced such change on the political, economic, social and moral dynamics of life, the consistency of one particular person on the list year after year, is something I find deeply encouraging.

And while 68 percent of those people say they believe in God, almost all report they are not looking for a religion that is right for them.

At 94 years old, Billy Graham continues to remain committed to sharing the Good News . . . and ...

Front Door

  • Monday, October 8, 2012

Early each Sunday morning, a longtime family friend and elder at our church runs by our house as part of his regular exercise ritual.  Recently, he added a slight deviation to his course.  He runs up our drive-way, picks up our newspaper and takes it up to our front doorstep.

It's a small gesture on his part, but big to me.  I don't particularly enjoy walking down my long driveway to pick up my morning newspaper -- particularly before I've had my coffee!  Thanks to Carl, though, I know that each Sunday morning all I need to do ...
