  • Monday, February 29, 2016

The Colson Center's ability to bring together Christian thought leaders is unparalleled. And the Wilberforce Weekend is the Colson Center's flagship event.  Especially this year, when we'll celebrate the 25th anniversary of BreakPoint® and honor Chuck Colson with the Wilberforce Award.

Hundreds have already signed up and are looking forward to hearing a quality line-up of speakers including Eric Metaxas, John Stonestreet, Frank Wolf, Ed Stetzer, Roberta Ahmanson, Steve Green, Frederica Mathewes-Greene, Mike Miller, Karen Swallow Prior, Johnnie Moore, Samuel Rodriquez, Kelly Rosati, Bill Brown, and Glenn Sunshine.

Praying for Life

  • Monday, January 11, 2016

In two weeks, hundreds of thousands of people will join the March for Life in Washington, DC. What if there were three times that many praying?

As Eric Metaxas shared recently on "BreakPoint®," January 22nd is the 43rd anniversary of the worst Supreme Court decision in our nation's history.  With Roe v. Wade, seven robed men gave America some of the most permissive abortion-on-demand laws in the world.  Since that time, nearly 60 million unborn children have been killed in the womb.

January is the month so many American Christians memorialize the unborn through Sanctity of Life Sunday (January ...

Born in Bethlehem, Living in Our Hearts

  • Monday, December 14, 2015

This Christmas season, I think we all would acknowledge that recent events in our world including the acts of terror at home and abroad, have caused us to pause and ask, "where is the hope?"

As Eric Metaxas stated in a recent BreakPoint® commentary, "Tyrants, ancient and modern, have tried to erase any sign of Jesus. It didn't work then, and it won't work now."  He goes onto share this important story . . .

Responding to the Syrian Refugee Crisis

  • Wednesday, November 25, 2015

It's a story that's been reported in the news, but has become an even bigger story since the recent Paris attacks.  Millions of Syrians-hundreds of thousands of them Christians-have been displaced from their homes in recent years.

While everyone sympathizes with their plight, some have called to resettle Syrian refugees here in the U.S.  Some say only Christians should be allowed to resettle, while others say the security risks are too great to accept any Syrian refugees.

How should we think practically and biblically about this complex and divisive issue?  In addition to covering this issue on ...

Who Determines Right and Wrong?

  • Monday, October 19, 2015

It's always a treat when one of our ministry partners comes to town and we have the opportunity to see them speak in person.  Even better is when they come to speak at your own church!  This was the case for me last weekend when BreakPoint® host and friend John Stonestreet served as our guest speaker at Saddleback Church this past weekend.

John was asked to be part of an apologetics lecture series tackling the "Great Questions of Life," addressing areas of origin, purpose, death, and authority.  In John's message, he noted why these great questions really matter ...

Evangelicals and Catholics Today

  • Monday, September 28, 2015

Have you heard the new "BreakPoint® This Week" broadcast yet?  John Stonestreet is now joined by Ed Stetzer of LifeWay Research as they discuss hot topics of the week along with an invited guest to share expert commentary on the issues they are discussing.

Last weekend's program featured discussion about Pope Francis' visit to America, and what it means for cooperation between Evangelicals and Catholics, something Chuck Colson believed in deeply.  Ed shared firsthand what it was like to be in DC for the Pope's visit and Dr. Timothy George shared his impression of Pope Francis, and his ...
