Bringing World Events Into Perspective

  • Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Reading the Daily NewsEven with a journalistic background, sometimes I read the news and get lost in the details. You might relate ... I get the main points , but I don't take the time to integrate the meaning into my life. That's one reason I'm so grateful for Chuck Colson and Mark Earley. They constantly help me understand the larger impact of world events and the culture on the Church!

Just last week as headlines soared about Goldman Sachs, Chuck Colson explained the real story of the day: a lost of ethics in commercial markets and the trickle down impact on ...

A Broken Clock is Right Twice a Day...

  • Monday, March 15, 2010

Chuck Colson and Mark Earley at NRB 2010While eating dinner with a friend recently we were diving into one of my favorite conversations-an apologetic for the Christian worldview. About midway through she made an incredibly poignant statement (not only because we've just passed day light saving time, but also because of the truth in such a simple comment):

"A broken clock is right twice a day...but a clock set to the wrong time is never right."

What an incredible insight into worldview. We're all bound to be wrong at times with our beliefs-we're "broken," finite and deprived. But, when we set our entire ...

NRB 2010: A Year to Remember for Prison Fellowship!

  • Friday, February 19, 2010

Chuck Colson and Mark EarleyThere's a lot that happens at NRB, and sometimes it's hard to keep one year separate from another in our memory. I can tell you for me, this year will stand out! I am so priviledged to have served as the Account Executive for BreakPoint® and The Point® for the last couple of years. This year Prison Fellowship has some very significant milestones that I'm looking forward to celebrating with them!

First, the opportunity to hear Chuck Colson in person at the Closing Banquet. In addition to the powerful address that he'll be giving, he's ...

Chuck Colson and Mark Earley at NRB 2010

  • Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Chuck ColsonThe need for a strong worldview is more apparent than ever-from how Christians are responding to the crisis in Haiti, to the health care debate and reactions to pop culture. It's our grounding in biblical principles that should guide our understanding and reaction to world and cultural events. That's just what Chuck Colson and Mark Earley are dedicated to helping you and your listeners do every day. On BreakPoint® and The Point®, they candidly explain the reality of situations from a distinctively Christian stance.

Chuck Colson and Mark Earley are very significant figure in my life-greatly shaping my ...

Hindsight Is Always 20/20

  • Monday, December 14, 2009

Chuck Colson and Mark EarleyIn just a few days we'll be closing out another year and I can't help but become slightly pensive. Have I used 2009 well? Did I make a difference in anyone's life? What will history show happened from the last 365 days...and did I have a part in making it better?

I'll be the first to say I can go a little over-the-top when I start into my New Year's resolutions. But in my defense, it's only because one of the driving desires of my life is to be relevant-for Truth and ...

The Manhattan Declaration

  • Monday, November 23, 2009

The Manhattan DeclarationLast Friday a historic event took place in Washington DC as Chuck Colson and several other religious leaders announced the release of the Manhattan Declaration. If you missed the BreakPoint® commentary from that day, you'll want to read it. Here's what Chuck Colson shared:

The Manhattan Declaration is a wake-up call-a call to conscience-for the church. It is also crystal-clear message to civil authorities that we will not, under any circumstances, stand idly by as our religious freedom comes under assault.

The Declaration begins by reminding readers that for 2,000 years, Christians have borne witness to the ...
