What's Changed And What Hasn't
- Monday, August 8, 2011
These days I'm reflecting how much has changed through the years . . . and, conversely, how little has changed. As my oldest turns 18 this month, I recall what the world was like in 1993 and what it's like today.
Then: The year Rachel was born, Intel introduced the Pentium Processor, Beanie Babies were launched and Sleepless in Seattle was a box office hit. I was a young mother anxious for guidance on how to raise a little girl and reading The Strong Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson.
Now: I use an iPad. My youngest has WebKinzs -- plush toys ...

Yesterday was a good day.
A morning walk with my son. Church with the family. A concert at the park.
The simple things of life. . . and yet, some times the simple things aren't so simple.
On "Family Talk" this week, Dr. Dobson helps husbands and wives navigate home life when children are in the picture on "Your Spouse or Your Kids - Who Comes First?"
And, even as the summer days are fun and carefree, the battle for marriage continues - join Dr. Dobson next week for insights and updates on the state of marriage today.

It's nearing the end of the school year and parents are growing weary while their children finish up school projects and prepare for final exams.
Are you feeling weary today . . . maybe not about the school year, but in other areas of your life?

Great things are ahead but at the moment ...

Most of us don't know what happens beyond the first anniversary but do know that the traditional gift for that milestone is paper. That always seemed to me a "less than fair" representation of the effort that goes into the "first year" for most couples--and organizations!
In just a couple weeks, believe it or not, we will mark the one-year anniversary of "Family Talk" on-air. Thank you to the incredible circle of station friends who have made it possible for Dr. James Dobson's voice to continue to be heard across the country every day.
We may be sending ...

It's the banner above the title for the March 14 edition of Newsweek.
And it includes some fascinating women-undoubtedly all of them deserving of the "honorable mention."
What's more fascinating is those women not included. Names like Joni Tada, Anne Graham Lotz, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Vonette Bright, Elizabeth George, Emilie Barnes, LuAnne Crane and many other women we could name! These women shake the world every day to thousands who listen to their programs, thousands more who read their books and blogs and hear them speak in venues around the world.
Newsweek promises "this year and every year ...
