Finally Home to Family

  • Tuesday, January 3, 2012

With U.S. troops now returning home from Iraq, there's been a surge of surprise military homecoming videos on T.V. and the internet.  If you're anything like me, you enjoy every opportunity to watch these videos, maybe even more than once :-)!

Here's a recent video of a soldier that not only surprised his daughter at the end of her dance recital, but his wife too! I couldn't help but be moved emotionally after watching this one ... happy for this family's sweet reunion, but also concerned for their future.

Building "Togetherness" This Season

  • Tuesday, November 29, 2011
"... one thing we have learned over the years is that the best holidays are the ones when we're able to look back and say, 'I'm so glad we did all that together.'"
--Dennis and Barbara Rainey

This past Thanksgiving, my husband and I drove to New England to be with his family.  It's our new tradition since our move to the East Coast four years ago.  Prior to that, we spent most of the holidays with my family in California.  Admittedly, having families on opposite coasts has created some challenges during our marriage--especially between Thanksgiving and New ...

  • Answering questions about God
  • Dealing with a wayward child
  • Addressing new parenthood anxiety
  • Battling ...

Taking the Next Step

  • Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Did you see Courageous this past weekend?

After hearing "FamilyLife Today's" interview with Alex and Stephen Kendrick (the movie's producers), my husband and I were eager to give it our support.  We weren't alone.  USA Today reported that Courageous grossed $8.8 million in its opening weekend at the box office, taking fifth place!  That's an incredible showing for a faith-based movie (although you and I know, not impossible).

Taking Next StepIf you haven't yet seen it, I'd encourage you to do that soon ... and take your spouse with you.  Not only does it challenge men ...

Family LIFE is Busy!

  • Tuesday, August 30, 2011

Just ask any parent, especially this time of year when many are readying their kids for school.  The same can be said about the ministry of FamilyLife!  With the fall season just around the corner, they have heightened their efforts to reach marriages and families for Christ through a number of outreaches.  Just take a look at what's ahead for Dennis Rainey and the rest of their staff.

Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood ... the recently released book by Dennis Rainey is the focus of the "FamilyLife Today" broadcasts this month (9/12-14). It's also the subject ...
