There's Something for Everyone!

  • Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Did you happen to hear what listeners heard last month on "FamilyLife Today"?  I made it a point to tune in regularly and was so pleased to find out Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine tackled a myriad of difficult subjects, including one that remains a cultural debate, even among Christians.

Here's a look at a few that captured my attention (with my take-away in italics):

  • What the Bible says about homosexuality ... Hearing Kevin DeYoung's biblical insight into what God's Word says about this subject provided me with clarity on how I'm to respond to close relatives ...

Compassion without Compromise

  • Tuesday, April 28, 2015

When we come alongside new believers in Christ, especially those still entangled in sin, Dennis Rainey says, "We want to be loving ... we want to be known as Christ followers who represent Him in a world that needs people to put some shoe leather to their faith."

Two men in Bible StudyFor many folks, that is sometimes easier said then done when that new believer is a homosexual.

Coming up next week on "FamilyLife Today," Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine talk with two pastors (Adam Barr and Ron Citlau) who remind us that in the next year, we're likely to face one of ...

Being Faithful in the Journey

  • Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Hobby Howard (L) and Matt Maguire (R) from FamilyLifeThis past weekend my husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary by attending the Weekend to Remember® in Ventura.  We realize there may be some folks who wonder why we'd attend a conference on our anniversary, especially if they knew this was our sixth time.  But actually, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our journey as husband and wife.  Not only is it a great reminder of what's most important in our marriage--bringing honor to God--but a chance to look back on His blessings because of our faithfulness to each other and to ...

  • Tuesday, February 3, 2015

When speaking to a group of pastors recently Dennis Rainey said (as he held up his Bible) ...

"This Book begins with a marriage.  It ends with a marriage.  From Genesis to Revelation it's about how imperfect people experience the grace of God.  For millions of Americans the unmet thirst for a good marriage ... a solid family ... represents a need we must address as followers of Christ."

Traditional Marriage/FamilyHow central is marriage and family to the churches mission of proclaiming the Gospel and teaching the Bible?  This month on "FamilyLife Today," Dennis Rainey addresses that question in a 2-day series on ...

God's Purpose for Marriage

  • Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Several months ago while listening to "FamilyLife Today," it occurred to me how blessed I am to be serving a ministry where I'm regularly exposed to the best marriage and family advice there is.  And not only have I benefitted from the wisdom shared but I've been able to pass it along to my family.  In fact, now that my son and his girlfriend are seriously talking marriage, I've started a list of FamilyLife audio and materials for them to consider before they say "I Do."

Included at the top of this list will be Dennis Rainey ...

Keeping CHRIST in Christmas

  • Tuesday, December 2, 2014

God knows how prone we are to wander and that we need those moments in the calendar year where we can pull away and be reminded of who He is."

-Barbara Rainey on FamilyLife Today

Every year it's my heart's desire to make the most of the Christmas season--with a concerted effort to focus more on God's gift to us and less on decorating, eating, and shopping.

NativityAnd it's FamilyLife's desire to do the same--that is, providing listeners with ways of keeping CHRIST in Christmas.  An important challenge for those of us who are so ...
